Nearview, LLC and Geophysical Survey Systems, Inc. (GSSI) will be holding a remote sensing workshop at the 2017 Conference and Annual Meeting of the Council for Northeast Historical Archaeology (CNEHA) on November 10, 2017. Stefan Claesson of Nearview and Peter Leach of GSSI will showcase aerial drones or small unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and ground penetrating radar technologies (GPR), and their potential applications to historic archaeological site detection and documentation. Field work will include hands-on experience mapping a historic cemetery in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Participants will learn the basic process of project planning, data collection, post-processing, and analysis. Enrollment is limited to 12 individuals. We hope you’ll be able to join us!
